Using F.E.A.R. to Your Advantage

I was watching a few episodes from the old Alfred Hitchcock Presents series and it made me think...

In case you don't know...

Alfred Hitchcock was an English film director and producer. He is one of the most influential and extensively studied filmmakers in the history of cinema. is most famous being "Psycho".  He had a very unique style which lead to him being known as "the Master of Suspense."

What You Don't See...

Hitchcock's mastery of getting people on the edge of their seats wasn't by what he said or what he showed them...

He did it by what he DIDN'T SAY or what he DIDN'T SHOW!

That's right, his books and movies, he very cunningly uses space...

The infamous scene, in Psycho, where the gal gets stabbed to death in the shower he never actually shows her getting stabbed!

The suspense and terror comes from what you DON'T SEE!

Hitchcock set the stage for your imagination to fill in the details.

Genius!

Pandemics, Unrest & the Media

Remember when you were a kid and afraid of the dark?

You didn't have to wonder what was waiting for you under your bed, in your closet or in the basement. Your mind writhed in response to your fears, constructing both vague undefined fearsome feelings of dread and vividly clear representations of what would tear you and your world apart!

How does this happen?!

Easy...

What's suggested is more powerful than what is shown.

All we need is a suggestion and our minds will do the rest!

This is a very powerful process that is used both intentionally by the media, politicians and people who are trying to manipulate.

Fear is very viral and contagious. It grows exponentially and can be very manipulative. It is based in emotion not logic. Even though the seed of the deception can be planted by something that may be logical or factual. These things can be used selectively to frame something in a certain way to tell a certain story or support an agenda.

One Definition of F.E.A.R.

One definition of fear is...

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

And this way of looking at fear is rampant right now in our current Covid-19 pandemic situation.

If you don't want to become overrun by FEAR, make sure you shed light on the subject.

You have to be a critical thinker and get good information that is as accurate as possible. This often mean you have to do some research, ask questions and get multiple points of view. Not just the one you want to believe in or one that supports your views.

It's easy to get sucked down into a very dark and deeply fearful rabbit hole... And if you do, it becomes very difficult to make good decisions and move forward in a productive way. It may make it difficult to move at all!

Yes, of course there are some serious things going on right now, but what will make it even worse is if you succumb to a bunch of F.E.A.R. or false Evidence Appearing Real!

So be careful!

Another Way Of Using F.E.A.R.

This week on our Private PeaceWalker Membership, I share a specific conflict communication method that teaches you how to deal with violent people who use vague threats in attempt to exert control and get what they want from you.

You'll learn what to do and not to do, when dealing with this type of predator behavior. When you understand how to leverage this type of influence you have a much greater chance of staying safe and being successful in critical situations like these.

This method will show you the importance of what you DON'T say. Learning to frame your conversation in this way can make all the difference when dealing with this type of potentially violent person.

You could call this method...

The 'Hitchcock'...

You can get that training and a whole lot more when you join us in the PeaceWalker Private Membership.

What you learn will help you to come out of this crisis safer, healthier and more prepared than before it even started!

All the best,
