How Concerned Should I Be?!
So, I go to the local academy the other day (like most days) and this is the billboard right outside by the parking lot... No kidding!
Some may say that it's a good advertisement for a Self Defense Academy. However, I'm not an ambulance chaser, so there you go.
However, I would be interested in how many people make that connection.
"Sir/ma'am, did you enter my establishment in direct response to the large sign informing you of the area's current murder rate?"
Unlikely...
Then, this morning I was checking my emails today and I came across this MLive article...
Although homicides are down overall in Michigan, they're up here in Grand Rapids. Now keep in mind, most of that is what I'd call, 'thug on thug' crimes often drug and gang related.
It's still disconcerting though.
So, if you don't want to go to the trouble of reading the article, here's the gist of it:
Although homicides overall are down in Michigan (except here in GR), according to the new 2021 FBI stats, Michigan now has 4 cities considered in the top 20 most violent cities in the nation.
Saginaw, Detroit, Kalamazoo and Lansing
Good to see that Flint and Muskegon missed the count...
Is Crime Really On the Rise?!
I'm not trying to use scare tactics here, but since the pandemic, crime across the board has substantially increased, pretty much everywhere.
Is this something for you to be concerned about?!
Yes and No.
NO, don't freak out and go all super crazy prepper on me!
BUT, YES, pay attention out there.
Get some training if you haven't yet.
Don't look like an easy target.
Learn how to better defend yourself and family.
HOW?!
Buy a gun?
Get some pepper spray?
Possibly, but those are just tools. They can be helpful.. or not. It depends on you.
It really all starts with a simple commitment to embrace your natural born Protector Identity.
Have the right mindset.
Stay vigilant!
Be ready to do something if you have to.
And...
Have others back too!
